Yep, it's our fourth seasonal lookbook and we are so excited!
For those of you who might be new around here (hey + welcome!), Anastasia from Bent Arrow Blog and I have this tradition of doing a lookbook each season, and it's always one of my favourite posts to do. I've been waiting for this Autumn one for ages; Autumn is one of, if not, my favourite season!
jumper: Ally | skirt: thrifted | tights: Target | backpack: a market | boots: London Rebel | hat: unknown
This outfit makes me feel a bit like a 1950's schoolgirl, but I'm sort of into it? My friend Bree (who wrote this post which you should totally go check out!), gave me this jumper for my birthday last year and it is so so lovely! It's warm, cream which is just a great colour, and the sleeves are the perfect length. Because I'm so tall I always find sleeves are too short for me, but these are long enough to be rolled up! I'm in love.
dungarees: Cotton on | shirt: Kmart | jewellery: Lovisa | shoes: Kmart
I'm so happy that dungarees have come back into fashion because I think they are just the best thing. Of course, I'm loving the top as I'm right into anything striped, and the shoes and gold jewellery just make the outfit.
When we shot this outfit, I was wearing my ridiculously high heels for this post (the shoes didn't even make it into the photos, smh), so we were both just staggering along in our tall white heels like newborn giraffes. (Note that Anastasia's are a normal height though, and she can walk in them just fine. It's me that buys shoes I can hardly walk in.)
jumper: Minkpink | jeans: JayJays | scarf: Cotton On | bracelets: Lovisa | shoes: Converse
I have a love/hate relationship with this jumper.
Sometimes, I'm really feeling it, and other days, I wonder why I even own it. But can I just tell you that it is the freaking comfiest thing? Like, I just want to live in it.
And shoes shoes shoes. I have been wanting a pair of converse for ages, and these babies joined the fam a week or two ago, and they've hardly left my feet. (Jks jks I don't wear them to bed.)
top: unknown | skirt: Supre | sunglasses: Alex Perry | shoes: Nike | necklace: Colette | bracelet + rings: Lovisa
These kind of outfits are my favourite. They're the perfect mix of sporty and dressy, and surely you could just wear this everywhere, right? I would.
The gold theme Anastasia has going on with the jewellery and sunglasses ties everything together so nicely, and I love a skater skirt, so like I said, I just really love this outfit.
Eighteen outfits later and we've done a whole years worth of lookbooks! It seems so weird because I can still remember shooting the first one for winter last year.
Don't forget to have a look at Anastasia's blog here, and her Instagram here.
Wishing you all an Autumn full of cozy blankets, warm drinks and the people you love,
It has become a tradition of sorts for Anastasia and I to do a lookbook each season, and recently we shot our Summer one! It has been so hot here in Melbourne recently, I've been going to the beach so much and I managed to get burnt nearly every time... But I really do love this weather.
This time around, we've styled three outfits each instead of two, so that's different. But I think the possibly most exciting change is that this time the photos were taken by Shelby, a good friend of ours who knows way more about photography than either Anastasia or I. I love love love how the photos turned out, she did such an amazing job! Don't forget to have a look at her blog here, it's full of some pretty amazing photography.
Past lookbooks: Spring 2015 | Winter 2015
top - Ally | skirt - Valleygirl | clutch - Colette | sunglasses - Alex Perry | necklace - Colette | bangle + rings - Lovisa
I love the way that all the gold tones in this outfit tie everything together, plus I think they compliment the skirt. This clutch is actually Anastasia's, but I borrowed it because the gold detailing matched the rest just too nicely!
dress - Kmart | bracelet + rings - Lovisa
An outfit like this is such a go-to in the Summer for me. It can be hard sometimes to find dresses that are really casual, but this dress does that perfectly! I actually have this same dress, and I've worn it everywhere: to the city, to the beach, lounging around the house. It's just really comfortable, and the daisy pattern is both pretty and simple.
top - Disneyland | shorts - Supre | necklace - Forever 21 | sunglasses - Alex Perry
Yet another go-to outfit for me in the Summer, high waisted shorts with a top. I've had this top longer than I've been alive (I'm only half exaggerating), but to be fair, it is really comfortable. And I really like the vintage Minnie and Mickey. The sunglasses weren't really planned for this outfit, but I do wear these all the time so I probably have worn them with a similar outfit at some point. I kind of just stick on my head, meaning to wear them as actual sunglasses at some point, and then I always forget they're there and they live on top of my head all day. Ya feel me?
top - Ally | leggings - Kmart
I would wear an outfit like this if I was just hanging around the house and I wanted to be super comfortable. Or maybe for exercise? Yes, we know this isn't a proper sports top but if you aren't running a marathon and you just want an easy and comfy outfit, this is the next best thing.
dress - Ozmosis | shoes - Zhu | bracelet - Lovisa
Florals for Spring? Groundbreaking.
Okay okay, I know it's not spring but I saw an opportunity and I took it.
This would be perfect for a slightly more formal occasion. It's pretty much impossible to see in both of these photos because of the way I was standing, but the dress has little cutouts in the side which are too cool, I'm obsessed. Petition to be allowed to wear this dress to school. Also a shoutout to my gorgeous friend Bree who gave me this dress, I love it!
top - Ally | skirt - Kmart | kimono - Kmart | bracelet + rings - Lovisa
This has to be one of my favourite outfits! (I'm totally going to borrow this, Anastasia.) I honestly wasn't sure at first how the cream kimono would work with all the black, but I think it looks fantastic so props to Anastasia for this genius outfit planning.
I've wanted to do this lookbook for a really long time now, so I'm really excited this is out! Thanks so much to Anastasia for taking all the video and photos, my sister Holly for letting me borrow the crop top and shorts in the third outfit, and to the people in my neighbourhood who unknowingly let us use their fence as a backdrop.
Jeans - JayJays Shirt - Kmart Shoes - Zu Necklace - Kmart
Hat - unknown
This is a nice outfit for a house or garden party (are garden parties even a thing?) It's really comfortable, which is pretty important in my books. If I was going to be doing a lot of walking or dancing I'd swap these heels for flats or ankle boots.
Top - Supre Sunglasses - Alex Perry Boots - London rebel
Shorts - Supre
Shoutout to my sister Holly for letting me borrow her top and high waisted shorts! I think I'll actually buy me a pair of these shorts, because if you know me you'll know how much I love high waisted shorts - but I have never found a pair thats fits my small waist/wide hips situation.
Would definitely wear this outfit on a night out or a big group get together, relaxed party type thing.
Dress - thrifted Shoes - Zu Jacket - Cue designs (thrifted)
I'd wear this to a dinner party at a friends house, especially if it was going to be a really long night because this is really comfortable but at the same time it's still slightly dressy.
