This time tomorrow, I'll be in Queensland! So. Excited.
It seemed appropriate to have a travel themed post the day before I leave, so here are my flight must haves.
Oversized sunglasses are very, very, necessary when in an airport. Bags under your eyes? You look like you're dead? No problem! Sunglasses are an effortless way to look like you're alive (mostly), when you've been on a excessively long flight.
Lucky for me, Queensland isn't far from Melbourne.
I'm so done with 15 hour long flights.
Do you know how dry airplane air is?
I find it hard to get off of an airplane with out my lips being cracked and all around ugh.
I can' stand going on flights without at least one form of lip balm. Sometimes I bring multiple, aha.
Magazines + novel
Why do I always seem to acquire at least one magazine per trip to the airport?
Well, I'm not complaining.
Reading is my favourite way to pass time on a flight, long or short. If the flight is over eight hours I usually bring a couple books, just in case I finish the first!
Headphones + phone/iPod/laptop
Music. Enough said.
Hairbrush + toothbrush, toothpaste + deodorant
Thank goodness the flight to Queensland isn't very long, so I won't have these in my carry on. However, any flight over five hours I think it's nice to have a few basic toiletries so you can feel kind of clean.
I would always bring this on a flight over six hours. I like using the Eau Roma water from Lush, which is super relaxing and refreshing - perfect for a flight.
Notebook + pen
All my best ideas for stories and blogposts come to me when I'm not really doing anything - trying to fall asleep, daydreaming in class (oops), or sitting on a plane.
Also, I seem to do a lot of doodling on flights.
What are your carry on essentials? Tell me in the comments, I'd love to know! I'm nosy. Don't pretend you aren't too.
